Heroes and Villains!

Here is one of my absolute favourite assignments from 3rd year! These guys started as life drawing gestures, and turned into some wacky, creepy, weird, heroes and villains! Here are the final products, traditionally drawn and coloured in Photoshop:

From there, I adapted them into fully inked comic book heroes and villains! Drawn in pencil, brush pen, and gray markers on comic book paper. Had tons of fun doing this!

Here is a story concept from waaay back in the beginning of second year that I never pursued. The story was based on a poem called "The Leader". I felt the story was best told in beat board format, and didn't need much expanding upon. So, I went with "My Father instead". I'll post that up soon. Meanwhile, enjoy this!

Summer jobs! Part 1

I figured it was time to post some stuff I've been working on this summer! I've been commissioned to do a few things this summer that have been quite out of the animation realm, but still very interesting and challenging to do! I spend a good chunk of May working on this piece, an advertising campaign headed up by the qr agency. Check them out on facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/qragency

This design was in promotion of the group LMFAO's new album. It was printed on 3 foot by 4 foot stickers and was plastered all over the city of Toronto. It was also modified and made into a poster which went into nightclubs all around the city. Very cool to be associated with this project!

Since I began this blog recently, I feel like I should post some more personal highlights from last year. Here are a couple of paintings that I am quite proud of from 1st semester of last year. Well, here it is- the first entry of my brand new art blog! I hope anybody who stumbles upon this blog enjoys what they see! I figured I'd start the blog by posting a storyboard leica reel that I'm quite proud of. It was an assignment from the 1st semester of 2nd year in which we were assigned to create a board based on the theme of "it keeps happening". The result was inspired by a cross between my love for Looney Tunes and a visit to my step sister's fly infested house. Enjoy!
